Bonnet Springs Park is a brand new 168 acre park that just opened on the west side of downtown Lakeland, FL. The place has quickly become a go to favorite for my family to explore and wander around outside in the gorgeous fall weather we’ve been having lately. Super easy to grab an ice cream cone and walk all the lovely paths and boardwalks the sprawling park offers. There’s even a rooftop bar over looking the large lawn area where there are always families throwing footballs and frisbees around. Perfect place to grab a cold libation and watch the world be active on the grass below.

We decided to meet on a beautifully cool spring morning at Loyce E. Harp Park in South Lakeland, one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions because there’s just so many places to take photos! The two of them did such a great job picking complimentary outfits for the hour long session, one formal outfit and one casual.

These two are, without a single doubt, absolutely adorably in love and I am so excited to photograph their wedding day in February at Town Manor on the Lake. When Nikki reached out to me to photograph their big day & their sweet downtown Bartow engagement session (love the photos at the fire station…..oh my!) I over the moon to be back at one of my favorite Polk County wedding venues. Peep one of my other Town Manor weddings and you’ll see how gorgeous it is! You have selected a photographer that your super excited to work with and who’s style you adore, but you just aren’t sure about the included engagement session. More likely, YOUR fiance’ isn’t sure about the engagement session! I know, I know, I hear it all the time!! :) After all, you’ll have plenty of pictures of the two of you from your wedding day, right? While it is true that you should have a good amount of photos from your wedding day, here are a few reasons why I think an engagement session is a fantastic idea. In fact, I include them in some of my wedding packages because I believe it’s THAT important!
