Fall Engagement Session at Bonnet Springs Park in Lakeland, FL

Bonnet Springs Park is a brand new 168 acre park that just opened on the west side of downtown Lakeland, FL. The place has quickly become a go to favorite for my family to explore and wander around outside in the gorgeous fall weather we’ve been having lately. Super easy to grab an ice cream cone and walk all the lovely paths and boardwalks the sprawling park offers. There’s even a rooftop bar over looking the large lawn area where there are always families throwing footballs and frisbees around. Perfect place to grab a cold libation and watch the world be active on the grass below. When Kirsten and I began talking about her and Michael’s upcoming engagement session, I knew exactly where to go!

We met on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon right after the time change, when the light is all cool and golden as the sun goes down. Kirsten and Michael showed up with two outfits for their session and we started down towards The Edwards Family boathouse and boardwalk that meanders around The Blanton Family Lagoon. First we had to cross a sweet wooden bridge and there is no way I’m passing up a bridge for photos. Next stop was a little stream with rocks perfectly placed for crossing over without getting your feet wet (or you can take your shoes off, be adventurous, and wade through the water…..tiniest bit cold, but felt refreshing!) They were so amiable to all of my suggestions, I probably could have stayed another hour photographing their engagement session but we finally had to leave as the sun completely set.

Thank you so much for an enjoyable afternoon you two! I’m so excited for your wedding next March at the here in Lakeland. It’s going to be the loveliest of days!!
