Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to photograph, and last year I had the pleasure of capturing the spooky nuptials of Chenoa and Matt at Still Creek Farm in Lakeland, FL. From skeleton hands on their invitations to cobwebs on their tables, this Halloween-themed wedding was a true treat (all Halloween puns intended!) for the eyes. There was even the cutest black (&white) cat that popped in for a sniff of the bouquets!
I first met the two sweethearts in April for their lovely spring time engagement session at Bok Tower Gardens, one of my favorite garden venues for engagement sessions and weddings. Chenoa wore this ethereal floaty flowered dress that I absolutely adored! We wandered through the gardens talking about their upcoming wedding and getting to know each other. The engagement session is always such a great way to work together before the actual wedding day!
Still Creek Farm: The Perfect Backdrop for a Gorgeous Day
Fast forward to October and their wedding day. The venue itself was the perfect setting for a Halloween wedding. Still Creek Farm is a peaceful and picturesque property, complete with lush greenery, a beautiful creek, and plenty of stunning photo locations. There were perfectly placed ghoulish decorations scattered throughout the inside of the barn and around the property. Just enough to give a great Halloween vibe but not too much
But the real treat of the night was the food. The owners of Still Creek Farm catered the event and served up a decadent chocolate cake and out of this world mac-n-cheese that had all of the guests raving. I even had to sneak a bite or two myself! So Good!
A Halloween Party to Remember
The couple and their guests were dressed in their Halloween best, and the party was filled with laughter and dancing. Matt & Chenoa’s first dance was accompanied by smoke on the ground. Love the illusion of dancing on a cloud and the photos are always amazing! They also had a huge candy bar for the kids (young & old) that were present, so no one felt like they were missing out on trick-or-treating.
Capturing the Magic
As a wedding photographer, it's always an honor to capture the magic of a couple's big day. But Chenoa and Matt's Halloween wedding was truly special. The spooky setting, delicious food, and fun-loving guests made for a Halloween party to remember. I can't wait to see what these two will come up with for their anniversary next year.
