As a Lakeland wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing the super sweet and amazing wedding of Liz and Michael at the gorgeous Sorosis Building on Lake Morton in downtown Lakeland. The couple's love story began almost six years ago in a completely different town, but their roots are deeply planted in Lakeland. Both Liz and Michael attended Lakeland High School together, where he played football for the LHS Dreadnaughts and she danced on the Anchorettes dance squad.
Their love story truly began when Liz ran into Michael at a BBVA Compass Bank in Ocala, FL, where he works as a financial advisor and she was there with her mother for an appointment. The two eventually started dating and six years later, on Liz's 50th birthday surrounded by her three daughters and close friends and family, Michael proposed.
The wedding day was filled with joy and happiness, with delicious southern cuisine provided by Fresco's, including a grazing table and down-home cooking favorites like black-eyed peas and fried chicken. The guests were absolutely joyful and the love between Liz and Michael was palpable in the air.
A Love Rooted in Lakeland
The couple's connection to Lakeland runs deep, as they both grew up in the city, attending the same church and their fathers even got together to play golf and eat barbecue. Despite growing up in the same city, their paths didn't cross until they both found themselves in different towns years later.
A Joyful Celebration with Family and Friends
The Sorosis Building is one of my favorite Outdoor Lakeland Wedding Venues and was the perfect setting for Liz and Michael's big day, with its stunning views of Lake Morton and the downtown skyline. The guests were treated to a wonderful spread of southern comfort food, including the couple's favorite dishes, and everyone was in high spirits, celebrating the happy couple and their love for each other.
